Eclipse is a third-year architectural project done by Helen Zhao and

Julian Molina under Edgar Duran. The biological circadian rhythm was

researched and studied to design the circulation and feeling of the environment

for a user. Eclipse is a spa-resort located at Humphreys Peak, Arizona--

the tallest elevation in the state. Each of the five elevations are based on human

brain waves with the programmed used of the space. The sensory deprivation tank

provided for optimal relaxation. Main materials include concrete, aluminum and

glass.

Eclipse was awarded the Design Excellence Award (Spring 2024)

by ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
